To assist and support the prudent stewardship of the financial resources of the organization through the adoption and application of sound business and financial practices designed to protect and maximize the value of the organization's assets.

Associates Liaison
 
 

To maintain and enhance the communication and relationship between the Associates and the Young Associates, as well as to identify value that can be added to both organizations.

Corporate Governance Committee
 
 

The Young Associates are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of business integrity. As a result, we have a Corporate Governance Committee, in place to ensure that we conform to the principles of corporate governance. The purpose of the Committee is to assist the Board of The Young Associates in fulfilling its responsibilities by ensuring that corporate governance guidelines are adopted, disclosed and applied, including director qualification standards, director responsibilities, director orientation, succession and annual performance evaluation of the Board.

Programming
 
  To develop and organize dynamic and relevant events on a regular basis that are consistent with the mandate of the Young Associates. If you have any ideas for speakers or events that you would like to see, please contact:

Communications Committee
 
  To develop regular communication to Young Associate members that keeps them informed of current Young Associates events and news and helps bond the members to the organization.

Membership Committee
 
  To increase membership of the Young Associates utilizing a variety of methods, including working with current Young Associates Board members, in identifying potential member who would support the mandate of the Young Associates. If you know of any potential new members please contact the Membership Chair.

Black & White Committee
 
  To host an evening gala that brings together a group of professionals and business persons, and their friends and associates. Dynamic themes and events in a new location each year create a focus for the event and provide a way of fundraising for the Young Associates. As well the B&W seeks to expand the membership of the Young Associates and crystallize the members already in existence.

"Bad Pants" Golf Tournament
 
  To host a golf tournament that brings together a group of professionals and business persons, and their friends and associates. This tournament seeks to raise the awareness of YA in the  business community, as well as to provide additional funding for Young Associates efforts with the Asper School of Business.

Co-Chair:  Mike Passingham and Alex Ethans
 
 
Awards and Sponsorships Committee
 
  To propose to the Board awards and sponsorships to the Asper School against criteria developed by the committee and approved by the Board.  It will meet with and build relationships with the various stakeholders at the Asper School to gather an understanding where we can best provide support aligned with the YA's strategic plan.  The committee will also identify opportunities for and track any volunteer activities our members participate in at the Asper School (guest lecturers, judges, mentorship, etc.) as part of our non-financial commitment.  All supporting activities and spend will be reported to the membership.  This is the YA's next step following our completion of the $250,000 commitment to the capital campaign in 2009.

Sponsor Relations Committee
 
  To holistically look at sponsorship from an organization level and approach our key sponsors and new sponsor targets in a strategic way. The committee is designed to work with the Chairs of the fundraising committees to identify where strong relationships exist with existing sponsors and help to track those as well as to identify new opportunities for either the fundraisers or other initiatives such as programming through relationship building and monitoring.
