| History of The Young Associates | The Young Associates is affiliated with the prestigious Associates Programme. The Associates was formed in the early 1980s when Roland Granpre, former dean of the Univeristy of Manitoba Faculty of Management, recognized the potential of establishing firm linkages between the business community and the business school. Two prominent business leaders, Jack Fraser and Arni Thorsteinson, joined in the dean's idea.
One hundred corporate leaders were brought together in a partnership now known as The Associates. Committed to excellence in business education, The Associates now has chapters in Toronto and Vancouver.
From the success of The Associates, The Young Associates was formed in 1993 to provide the same network for ideas, experience and education as the Associates, but among the younger business community.
The Young Associates' membership has grown steadily from the initial base of 17 to more than 175 members, and provides the business leaders of tomorrow an opportunity to network and gain from the wealth of experience of today's leaders and entrepreneurs. |
